The 120th Wapping Fair, taking place at Evergreen Walk is proud to bring you even more excitement with new attractions and features never been seen at the fair. Bringing fun and excitement are the all new Racing Ducks. They will be coming along with fan-favorites, the Racing Pigs, for numerous races daily. You won't want to miss Circus Stella (Jayna Lee and Adam Lowe) featuring juggling, acrobatics, stunts, stilt walking, fire-eating, contortion, bed of nails, aerial silk and static trapeze! They'll make you wish you could run away with the circus, too! Back again with his fire eating, sword swallowing and mind reading repertoire is Roderick Russell. One of only 50 sword swallowers in the world, Roderick's shows will leave you breathless and filled with anticipation.

This year, we have not one, but TWO stages, filled with music of all styles from blues to rock to bluegrass to country.Popular local bands Unprepared, Johnny I Band, youngster Korey Brodsky and South Windsor High School student James McPherson will all be on our main stage while Slug Nickel, Paul Tyler, South Windsor High School band Iron-Y and JC& the Vipers will be entertaining on stage two.

This year's fair is getting back to the roots of agricultural fairs! Weekend activities will offer demonstrations of the way things used to be done. Stop by the Coldwell Banker demonstration booth on Saturday to watch candles being made from scratch, a wood carver fashion items without the use of power tools and a Windsor chair maker perform his craft right before your eyes. Over the two days, check out our agricultural workshops and learn about making homemade butter, the quick and easy way to do canning, gardening tips and more.

Providing the rides again at Wapping Fair is Tufano Amusements, who will continue making our midway a true destination for fun for children of all ages as they will be bringing some of the best rides available including Cliffhanger, Swings, the Pirate Ship, the Avalanche and more! 18 rides to make everyone scream!! Stop by Thursday night and Sunday from noon to 4:00 p.m. for our unlimited ride bracelets!!

Lets not forget our animal and agricultural fun! Our three-day-old baby chicks, sponsored by Rockville Bank, are scene stealers along with our 4,000 square feet of farm animals. For those with a competitive spirit, remember to enter some of our agricultural contests including our King Arthur and State Baking contests to win some great prizes. Plus, all new this year, is the Best of South Windsor Contest. Show your pride by showing off your interpretation of the rich heritage of South Windsor.

Does the Wapping Fair have plenty of food? Boy, do we!! The fair has a variety of different foods for all to enjoy, including everyone's favorite hot dogs and hamburgers, pizza, baked potatoes, sausage and peppers grinders, Taiwanese food, pulled pork, tamales, French fries, smoothies, fried dough, huge sandwiches of all kinds (turkey, roast beef, chicken, mozzarella steak and more) and more!

Since 2001, the South Windsor Jaycees have been the driving force behind the Wapping Fair. The Jaycees use the money raised by the fair each year to fund many community projects. This year, the Jaycees created the South Windsor Jaycees Foundation, Inc., a 501C3 organization, to oversee the fair and help increase the educational and charitable work at the fair.
