Roderick Russell
One of only 50 living sword swallowers in the entire world, Roderick Russell has been described as strangely sophisticated, successfully blending suggestion and psychology with his own personal mind-over-body techniques. He presents a show that bravely pushes the limits of the possible--both physically and mentally. Presenting the most dangerous and bizarre feats with with, charm and style, Roderick also deftly navigates deep into the minds of the audience to create the most personal and profound type of theater experience. Call him a sword swallower. Call him a mentalist. ABC News calls him a "rare find." Jayna Lee

Unprepared Friday, September 9, 7:00-10:00 It was the summer of 2002, and four local boys were given the opportunity they had been waiting for--their first gig. Unfortunately, they weren't a band, and they didn't know any songs. They were four individual musicians who liked to spend time at the local bar and were able to talk up their talents after a couple of rounds. With less than a week to put together a three hour show, the boys met for hours every night, practicing as many songs as possible, and aptly naming themselves "Unprepared." Although not their finest performance, the newly-formed band was able to turn one Thursday night gig into an eight month weekly encore. Over the last eight years, Unprepared has managed to play all over Connecticut, from backyard barbecues to Hartford's biggest bars, town greens, major venues and gas station parking lots. They've made themselves an East Coast favorite, working their way up to the local main stage as runners-up for Hartford's biggest band competition. Since then, they've been making a name all over New England by playing nightclubs, day camps, charity events and town fairs, all to promote their music--the band has locally recorded two full-length discs, while both studio and live bootlegs continue to circulate the state. They've managed to cover their home state. Now, they want the rest of the world. Unprepared--they're the next big thing.Johnny I Band
Singer/guitarist and songwriter, John Ingrassia has been playing guitar for over twelve years. Following in the footsteps of guitar greats Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix and Slash (GNR), John, by the time he was 18, had already left his mark at many clubs in the northeast. With his first band Sundrill and now with the Johnny I Band. He has developed a blues style all his own by studying the styles of BB King, Doyle Bramhall and Jeff Pitchell. Johnny has performed at top blues clubs such as The Blues (New Haven, CT), Cafe 9 (New Haven, CT). John was also entered into the "99" blues talent contest sponsored by the CT Blues Society (of which John is a member) and performed at Black-Eyed Sally's (Hartford, CT). John has also performed and recorded with many prominent musicians and bands in the northeast area. He has received guidance from many of his music heroes such as Zakk Wylde, Slash, Rick Derringer, Kim Wilson, James Cotton, Chris Duarte, Denny Freeman, Buddy Miles, Jonny Lang and Kenny Wayne Shepherd about the must business and art of recording. He is also an active guitar instructor in New Haven County. Courtney Drummey
