Who are the South Windsor Jaycees? The South Windsor Jaycees is an organization for young people, ages 21-40, that wish to develop leadership skills by helping their community. With more than 30 members, the South Windsor Jaycees are able to complete more than 100 projects each year. More than 25 of those benefit the local community in some way. Projects like food drives and game booths at events assist more than 1,000 people annually and raise well over $6,000 for various charitable causes. Funds have been donated to SW Child Car Seat Safety Program, SW Human Services, Protector of Animals, My Friends' Place, Juvenile Diabetes, American Cancer Society, DAWGS Search and Rescue, Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, South Windsor Teen Center and more. However, the Jaycees is much more than a community service group. We offer our members the opportunity to grow as individuals. Professional skills seminars such as Financial Planning, Will Writing, Health Care and more are offered throughout the year at no cost to our members. The South Windsor Jaycees also regularly plan social activities for all to enjoy. Bowling nights, New Britain Rock Cats games, BINGO nights, family picnics, dinner outings, movie nights, billiards socials and more are conducted every month to give members the chance to interact in a social environment, develop friendships and expand their professional network. The Jaycees always welcome new members that want to become involved in the organization. We meet the second Wednesday of every month at Rockville Bank on Ellington Road at 7 PM. Guests are always welcome. To receive a copy of our monthly newsletter or to get more information about the Jaycees please contact Neil Leibowitz at 860-644-4985 or visit www.swjaycees.org.
